What determines Parcel Weight?

Parcel weight is determined based on 2 factors, the actual weight and the volumetric weight. Your parcel price will be based on the higher of either the volumetric or actual weight.
The acutal weight is easy, this is the weight in kilograms of the parcel if you weighed it on a set of scales.
The volumetric weight is a little more complex, depending on what type of parcel service you are using.
Volumetric Weight for UK parcels
For Interlink Services; Length (cm) x Height (cm) x Width (cm) divided by 6000. So a parcel sized at 60cm x 50cm x 40cm will have a volumetric weight of 20kg.
For UPS Services; Length (cm) x Height (cm) x Width (cm) divided by 5000. So a parcel sized at 60cm x 50cm x 40cm will have a volumetric weight of 24kg.
Volumetric Weight for DPD European Parcels
This is Length (cm) x Height (cm) x Width (cm) divided by 4000.
So a parcel sized at 60cm x 50cm x 40cm will have a volumetric weight of 30kg. The parcel will be priced on the basis of 30kg, even if the actual weight of the parcel is less.
